Down to their last out, Jackson Pineault lifted the Rye Baseball team to an unlikely walk-off win on Monday, April 20, a 5-4 victory over Clarkstown North. The senior catcher delivered a game-winning two-run home run to right field with two outs in the seventh and final inning, flipping a one run deficit on its head.

Clarkstown North took a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning and a 4-2 lead after the top of the sixth, but the Garnets erased both deficits. Rye scored four times across the final three innings after a relatively quiet first four innings on offense.

Lucas London earned the win in relief with two innings of one-run ball, piggybacking off a strong start from Clayton McCarthy. Pineault walked twice to go along with his clutch home run. The only other Garnet to reach base safely multiple times was Nolan Hutson, who went 2-4 and scored twice.

Rye (8-2) will have a chance to push their win streak to eight games later today, April 21, as they travel to Clarkstown North to complete the home-and-home series. First pitch is set for 4:30pm. Watch it here.
