The Rye Boys Lacrosse team won their sixth game in a row on Tuesday, April 28, defeating Bronxville 11-5 on the road. While Rye has seen their offense produce at a higher clip throughout their win streak, the defense clamped down on the Broncos, allowing barely more than one goal per quarter.
“As a team, we are really starting to get on the same page and learning how to play as a unit,” Head Coach Jeremy Guski told MyRye.com (learn more about Guski). “I am proud of the progress we have made, but we have a long way to go.”
Henry Shoemaker paced the scoresheet with 2 goals and 5 assists, while Will Niejadlik added 3 goals and 2 assists and Charlie Brady also tallied a hat trick. That trio combined for eight of the eleven Garnet goals and most of the assists. Sam Lamont earned the win in goal, making several key saves to keep the Broncos at bay all evening.
Rye (7-3) has quickly put their 1-2 start in the rearview mirror with their April hot streak. The Garnets’ next test is at 5:00pm on Thursday, April 30, at Scarsdale. Replay the win over Bronxville here.
