The Rye Girls Soccer team continued their run of success in non-league play on Monday, September 14, as they dispatched Arlington 3-1. The Garnets jumped out to an early lead and never trailed to earn their third victory of the 2026 season.
“The 3-1 victory gives Rye another strong result against a talented Class AAA opponent,” head coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com after the game. “Julia Carballo anchored the Rye back line with another strong performance, playing with composure and helping the Garnets build the attack from the back.”
Carballo’s defense only surrendered one goal on Monday evening, a strike from the Admirals in the fifth minute. Prior to that, Charlotte Keenan scored in the first 30 seconds to jumpstart the Garnets. Harkin Brown restored the Rye lead in the 20th minute, courtesy of an assist from Hannah Jachman.
The Garnets took their 2-1 lead into halftime and put the clamps down after the break. Brown struck for a second time to add insurance to the Rye lead, and the 3-1 score stood up until the final whistle. Keenan and Eleanor Pandl found the assist column to join Jachman as all three Garnet tallies were assisted.
Rye (3-0-1) will still have to wait for their home opener, as their next contest is at Harrison on Friday, September 18. The Garnets and Huskies square off at 4:30pm in the first league matchup of the season for Savage and his group. Watch it here. Replay the win over Arlington here.
