The Rye Football team is coming off their first loss since the 2024 season, setting the stage for a motivated Garnets team to hit Nugent Stadium this weekend. Rye hosts a familiar foe in Eastchester in Week 2 at 7:00pm on Friday, September 18.

In what will be the 68th renewal of a football series initiated in the 1920s, fellow SWIAC (Southern Westchester Interscholastic Athletic Conference) and CWL (Central Westchester League) charter member, the Eastchester Eagles, rank 2nd to Harrison in the all-time number of games played versus the Garnet and Black. Rye and the Nayy and Scarlet pestered each other annually without missing a season for fifty straight campaigns from 1938 to 1987.
Only twice since 1984 have the EAGLES soared to victory over the GARNETS, and the 2026 regular season battle will not be a third.
Rye clips the EAGLES wings once again, this time by a 42-13 tree-topping spread raising the all-time GARNET margin to 53-12-2 (.815).
