Virginia (Pauline) A. Drago, 96, a longtime resident of Rye, NY died September 12, 2026. She was born September 30,1929 in Port Chester, NY to the late Lawrence and Lena Armato Pauline. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School.
Virginia was the widow of the late Dr. Samuel Drago, MD who died February 1, 2001. She was the manager of the former Sawpit Restaurant in Port Chester, NY. She was a devoted parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.
Virginia is survived by her beloved children Dr. Virginia Wade of Rye, NY, Thomas Drago and his wife Meg of Rye, NY, Richard Drago and his wife Judith of Weston, CT, Scott Drago and his wife Amanda of Rye, NY, her daughter-in-law Theresa Drago of Greenwich CT, and 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Samuel J. Drago in 2008 and her brother Lawrence Pauline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Monday September 21, 2026 at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent St., Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Drago may be made to the Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
