
The Rye Volleyball team came back from two sets down to top Horace Greeley on Thursday, October 1, winning 14-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-9. With the victory, Rye has now won six consecutive matches, and this is their first five-set win and first win when trailing 0-2 of the season.
Amelie Modesto, fresh off her 1000th career assist, added 43 more plus 13 digs for a double double. As usual, she excelled from behind the service line as well with four aces.
Katie Hillis also double-doubled with a season-high 19 kills and 15 digs. Audre Campbell came close with 10 kills, six blocks, and five aces. Rye’s stars rallied after a slow start for the clutch comeback victory on home hardwood.
Rye (8-2) travels to Eastchester for their next match on Saturday, October 3. First serve is scheduled for 2:00pm against the Eagles.
