The Rye Girls Soccer team dominated Somers on Saturday, October 3, as they picked up a 5-0 win on home turf. The Garnets returned to Nugent Stadium for just the second time this season and used that home field advantage to pin down a no-stress win.
Four different Garnets scored goals on Saturday afternoon, including Jill DeSanto’s early strike, Fiona Marino’s insurance tally, and Ryann O’Donnell’s classy finish just before halftime. Sophomore Harkin Brown added two tallies in the second half to close out the scoring. Blake Sasse and Mae Haesslin shared time in goal to preserve the shutout.
Rye (8-0-2) has another home game ahead of them on Monday, October 5, as they host Byram Hills at 5:00pm. The very talented Bobcats are 9-0 so far this season.
