The Rye Field Hockey team snapped their brief losing skid on Saturday, October 10, as they smoked Carmel 9-0. The Garnets scored early and often en route to their biggest win of the season.

“Liv Prata helped us start the 2nd half strong with a nice breakaway goal,” head coach Valerie Montano told MyRye.com. “She read the defense really well and used her speed to create a shot for herself. This goal gave us great momentum for the rest of the game.”

Prata ended up with two goals and one assist as one of five Garnets in the game with multiple points. Hillary Donahue scored her first varsity goal and Caroline Kmetz had her first multi-goal game. Kaitlyn Coyne netted her third hat trick of the year to highlight the big offensive outbreak.

“This was a great team win and we had contributions from many players,” Montano said.

Rye (7-5) has one of their biggest games of the season in their next matchup on Tuesday, October 13. The Garnets host Lakeland at 5:00pm at Nugent Stadium.
