Updating our MyRye.com estimate based on various county sources, it appears that the Westchester Board of Elections (WBOE) has only reached the halfway point of their Election Day ballot count as of their update released midday on Friday.

Yes, the election was Tuesday.

When will they finish? The WBOE is mum on when they might finish up. Given current pace, perhaps tomorrow or Sunday?…

As we said yesterday with our earlier story, the estimate was made using the small amount of information available, as the Westchester County Board of Elections (WBOE) has left residents and local media in an information vacuum. Beyond some sort of strange inability to count paper ballots, this may become one of the single greatest case studies in the complete and total failure of government communications.

The Westchester County Board of Elections reported the following preliminary figures midday on Friday, November 6, 2026:

  • Emergency Ballots Scanned Wednesday, November 4th: 15,467
  • Emergency Ballots Scanned Thursday, November 5th: 63,980

Presumably the Thursday number is for the complete day since yesterday they released a Thursday number that was as of 1:30 pm on Thursday. One county official told MyRye.com that it was reasonable to expect there would be approximately 160,000 ballots to be counted from Election Day voting. This is how we reached our estimate of a 50% completion rate, as just shy of 80,000 ballots have reportedly been counted.
