RFRR Community Story Telling Hour PREP

August 20, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Contact our Rye Free Reading Room Community Story Telling Hour program leader, Rory Scholl, to prep for the RFRR Community Story Telling Hour!Imagine Your Story. Everyone has stories to tell. Funny, sad, inspiring, informative. We want to share to make people laugh, to know we are not alone in our experiences, and in some cases to gain some closure. In this workshop, which will be followed by a class show, ( on ZOOM) we want you to imagine your story. What do you want to share? How is this unique to you, and on the other hand, how is it relatable to others? Please come with a few ideas of tales you’d like to share. Imagine your story told on stage, or in a book. What would you want to hear? From a story about a lesson learned, an adventure unfolded, a life change, or the best, worst day of your life. You do not need to come with a fully developed story. Just a few ideas from your life that you think would make people smile, cry, laugh, learn or just enjoy.  Rory Scholl is a storyteller and comic whose humorous essay Black Sheep was the number one best-selling story on Amazon for four months last year and he his new book is coming out in the fall. He is frequently on the RISK live shows and podcasts, and hosts the Liar Show, one of NYC’s longest running storytelling shows. He is an emcee and spokesperson, and teaches improv comedy and storytelling around the country. Sometimes he performs on the cruise ship the MSC Seaside. He is director and creator of ARTPROV, the touring improv show that combines painting with comedy, and Happy Karaoke Fun Time, an improvised musical troupe that creates brand new musicals using karaoke tracks. He walks his cat Valentino on a leash in Queens. Please register for this event with an email that you check frequently. A Zoom Meeting link will be emailed to you.
