RMS 5th to 6th Grade Orientation – Virtual

Dear 5th Grade Parents & Students, This is an exciting time for all of us as we begin to transition your child from elementary school to Rye Middle School! RMS will conduct a 6th Grade Orientation on Thursday, February 17, at 6:00 pm. This event will be held remotely via the link below. The goal of 6th Grade Orientation is to provide an overview of the middle school experience, our overall educational philosophy, and what you and your child can expect at Rye Middle School. At this meeting, you will also have the opportunity to meet your child’s counselor, team teachers and elective teachers, as well as other RMS students who want to share their middle school experience with your children. The counselor and teachers will review course information and give an overview of the middle school transition process. RMS students will be available to answer any questions that your child may have. To maximize our time together, please use the link below to submit your questions in advance. Students will address commonly asked topics during the orientation. Mr. Villanova, the incoming 6th grade class counselor, and I will discuss next year’s schedule and course offerings so students and parents fully understand our scheduling process. A communication will be sent out following the orientation for parents and students to complete their course request form.
