I sincerely hope that the transition from middle school to high school has been a smooth one so far. Even though the first month is always busy, it seems that students are well on their way to a successful year. During the fall, we will begin a transition program for all freshmen. Students will come out of Physical Education for the day to discuss transitional issues such as graduation requirements, skills for academic success, extracurricular activities, and future testing. Students will also be completing a Learning Styles Inventory this year to promote conversations about self-awareness and how each student learns best. The counselors will also take turns during ninth graders’ Composition classes offering a presentation on sexual harassment. We would like to invite you to a 9th Grade Parent/Guardian Evening on Thursday, September 30th at 7:00 PM. We will be reviewing the ninth grade transition classes, addressing some of the opportunities for support offered at the high school, and answering questions on expectations and future planning.
