Rye Polar Plunge 2026

Rye Tri Club Invites Community to Take the Plunge for a Cause on New Year’s Day 2026
26th annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge at Rye Town Park/Oakland Beach to benefit Meals on Main Street and Soul Ryeders. The Rye Tri Club will host its 26th annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Oakland Beach, Rye Town Park in Rye, New York. Festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the official plunge into the Long Island Sound at 12:00 noon. Proceeds from the event will support two local non-profit organizations: Meals on Main Street and Soul Ryeders.
Set against the historic backdrop of Rye Town Park and Oakland Beach, a beloved 62-acre waterfront park on Long Island Sound, the plunge has become a cherished New Year’s tradition for families, athletes, and thrill-seekers alike.
“This event is all about starting the year with purpose—by challenging yourself, supporting neighbors in need, and having a lot of fun in the process,” said Ken Harris, Co-President Rye Tri Club. “Every brave ‘plunger’ helps us raise critical funds for organizations doing life-changing work right here in our community.”
