Word from Rye City staff: federal and state officials conducted preliminary damage assessments of private property today due to Sunday’s flooding. The city is waiting on a second team that will conduct a damage assessment of public property. Officials are hoping the damage will be proven to be severe enough to warrant a federal disaster declaration.
