Osborn Ballroom Team Wins Silver in Fall Final Competition

After an enthusiastic pep rally in the Osborn School gym, the Osborn School Ballroom Dance team took home the Silver Award in the "Colors of the Rainbow Team Match" held at the Alfred Lerner Hall at Columbia University on Tuesday night, December 16th. The 3 remaining Gold Level winning teams will compete in the Grand Final at the Winter Garden Theater at the World Financial Center in New York City in June 2009.

This year, 240 teams throughout the metropolitan New York area participated in the "Dancing Classrooms" program, a project of American Ballroom Theater. It was a great accomplishment for the fifth graders to advance so far in the competition, practicing daily during lunch and recess for the past month under the direction of fourth grade teacher Amy Carman and musical director Marshall Toppo.
