Cohen To Run for Suzi Oppnheimer’s State Senate Seat

In a news announcment sent IN ALL CAPS over the weekend (WRITING IN CAPS is kind of like SCREAMING IN EMAIL), local businessman Bob Cohen announced that he plans to announce he will run for State Senate. ANNOUNCE THAT YOU WILL ANNOUNCE, YOU HAVE TO LOVE THAT…

Cohen will run for the 37th District on the Republican ticket – the seat he almost took from Suzi Oppenheimer in the last election. Oppenheimer is retiring. It is thought that local State Rep George Latimer may run on the democratic ticket but he remains undecided.

AND VOLUNTEER BOB COHEN (R) WILL ANNOUNCE HIS BID FOR THE NEW YORK STATE SENATE IN THE 37TH DISTRICT (WESTCHESTER COUNTY) ON MONDAY, MARCH 5TH AT 11:00 A.M. IN FRONT OF ARTUSO'S PASTRY SHOP AT 969 MCLEAN AVENUE IN YONKERS. 

MR. COHEN, WHO GARNERED MORE THAN 49% OF THE VOTE FOR THIS OFFICE IN 2010 AGAINST AN ENTRENCHED INCUMBENT, IS RUNNING FOR THE  NOW OPEN SEAT VACATED BY HIS FORMER OPPONENT, STATE SENATOR SUZI OPPENHEIMER (D), WHO DECIDED NOT TO STAND FOR RE-ELECTION THIS YEAR.

MR. COHEN IS RUNNING TO BRING PROPERTY TAX DOWN IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY; TO BRING FISCAL REFORM TO STATE GOVERNMENT; TO IMPROVE NEW YORK'S EDUCATION SYSTEM, AND TO DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY IN ALBANY.
