The 2013-2014 RCSD Budget and Board of Education Election will be on Tuesday, May 21st from 7am-9pm at Rye Middle School.
The proposed budget of $76.758 million is tax cap compliant. Voting is important; if the budget doesn't pass in two attempts then the district must adopt a contingency budget with a 0% spending increase. With required unfunded NYS mandate costs and increases in healthcare and pension costs, this could mean serious programmatic cuts for Rye Schools.
There are three candidates running for two spots on the Board of Education: Katy Keohane Glassberg, Nicole Weber and Bob Zahm.
