A new police commissioner for Rye City will be named this Wednesday evening, December 2nd at the Rye City Council meeting.
According the the agenda item, the new police commissioner will join on February 1, 2016.
The city declined to provide further information.

"AGENDA ITEM: Resolution for the Mayor and Council to approve the appointment of the Police Commissioner of the City of Rye. FOR THE MEETING OF: December 2, 2015 RECOMMENDATION: That the Council consider the following resolution: RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rye hereby approves the appointment of the Police Commissioner of the City of Rye effective February 1, 2016."
