State Cops Responding to Hit & Run in Rye Make DWI Arrest

This past Friday night a Connecticut man was arrested for DWI with a B.A.C. nearly three times the legal limit following a crash at the intersection of Boston Post Road and the I-95 entrance ramp in Rye.

This past Friday, May 8, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a hit and run crash that occurred at the intersection of Boston Post Road and the I-95 entrance ramp in the city of Rye. During the investigation, Troopers located the vehicle that left the scene on I-95, near exit 14. The driver of the vehicle, Ivan Rojas-Juarez, 29, of Willimantic, CT, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP New Rochelle where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.23%.

Rojas-Juarez was subsequently charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. He was released to a sober third party and issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Rye Court on June 12, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.

No one was injured as a result of the accident.
