Varsity Girls Soccer Rolls Snake Eyes Over Fox Lane

Varsity Girls Soccer rolled snake eyes over Fox Lane, shutting out their opponent 2-0 away. “In the second half, Reilly Traynor finished the game with two outstanding goals to lead the Garnets to another shut out win,” said Varsity Girls Coach Rich Savage. “Caroline Stevens and Sage Ruttenberg played solid in the back line for Rye.”

Rye rolls to a 6-0 season. The team faced a rough opponent with the Fox Lane Foxes. After a scoreless half, Rye’s entire team contributed to the win. The energy on the bench was helpful to spark Rye’s performance on the field. Reilly Traynor’s first goal came off a header from Meredith Tutun’s perfect corner kick. Four minutes later Traynor blasted a shot in the upper 90 from twenty-five yards out. It was a world class goal. Rye’s defense played with intensity and enjoyed another shut out.
