It will be the 63rd renewal of a football series hatched in the 1920s. SWIAC (Southern Westchester Interscholastic Athletic Conference) and CWL (Central Westchester League) charter bird, the EASTCHESTER EAGLES, rank 2nd to Harrison as Rye’s most frequent rival.
The Garnets and the Eagles annually pecked each other for five decades from’38 to ‘87. Here’s a factoid that will make the Navy and Scarlet molt their feathers – only twice since ‘84 (37 years) have the Eagles soared to victory. Once again the Garnets blunt the talons knocking the Eagles from their perch and advancing the rookery ledger to 49-12-2 (.803).
