Blizzard Conditions Possible w/ 7-10 Inches of Snow; 45 MPH Winds

The National Weather Service predicts heavy snow and wind gusts Friday night into Saturday.

The City of Rye reminds residents to secure outdoor furniture and remove cars from public streets for street cleaning purposes. Sidewalk snow removal must be done within 24 hours following the end of each snow event.

Overall

Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Near blizzard conditions are possible for a period on Saturday.

Friday Night Tonight
Snow, mainly after 10pm. Low around 15. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. North wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 12 to 17 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Saturday
Snow, mainly before 4pm. High near 24. Wind chill values between -10 and zero. Windy, with a north wind 22 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
Saturday Night
A 30 percent chance of snow before 9pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 9. Wind chill values between -10 and zero. Blustery, with a northwest wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
