Three Rye Varsity Skiing team members qualified for sectionals during Thursday’s Section I qualifier at Mohawk Mountain in Connecticut. Cassidy Pagen, Max Weber and Justin Gray were three of the top 11 finishers of the race qualified to compete at the Sectionals at Hunter Mountain on February 16th.
“It has been a challenging season dealing with COVID, constantly changing practice and race schedules and getting busing among other things,” said Coach David Gray. “But the kids have been resilient and they all did a great job against some of the top talent in Section I. Next up is our next race is Tuesday, February 8th at Thunder Ridge. Followed by one more qualifier the day after on Wednesday, February 9th at Mt. Southington in Connecticut. We’re still hoping to a get a few more Rye racers to qualify.”
Rye is in 2nd place in Division B North of Section I.
