Green for Green; Wellness for Wainwright & More: Rye City Council Agenda for April 27, 2022

The city council’s agenda for its meeting at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 is out. The meeting is on Zoom (not in person).

The meeting will also be aired on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 39. We’ll also see you on the Internet (live and archive).

Formal office hours of the Mayor and other officials have been suspended.

Residents may email comments regarding the public hearing to: publichearingcomments@ryeny.gov. All comments must be received by 4:15 pm on the day of the meeting. The subject of the email should reference the hearing topic. Please include your name and address.

Let’s check the batting order and highlights from the 12 agenda items.

  • Ida Don’t Want Another One. Post Ida Storm Update.
  • Better Blue. Consideration of proposed revisions of the Rules and Regulations of the City of Rye Police Department: General Orders #309 – Officer Response to Calls
  • Green for Green. Authorization for the City Manager to execute an updated short-term extension contract with Westchester Power with a new price target not-to-exceed 13.9 cents/ kilowatt hour (instead of 12.5 cents as originally drafted).
  • Salty Choices. City Council consideration of a preferred design alternative for the proposed new salt shed at the City’s Public Works Facility at Disbrow Park.
  • Wellness for Wainwright. Consideration of Pace program financing interest and penalty waivers for the Wainwright House.
  • Open Mic. Residents may be heard on matters for Council consideration that do not appear on the agenda.
  • Blowing into the Future. Adjourn until August 10, 2022, the public hearing to create a new local law, Chapter 122, “Landscapers and Leaf Blower Regulations” requiring all landscapers to obtain an annual permit in order to operate as a landscaper and restrict the use of leaf blowers.
  • Grand Opening. Consideration of a request from the Rye YMCA to use the Village Green on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm for a special yoga class and some kid activities to promote the opening the its new studio.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
