It takes mettle to show metal. And most of the seventy odd rowers at RowAmerica Rye returned from USRowing Summer Youth Nationals with lots of bling.

Just back from the Oak Ridge, Tennessee competition, RowAmerica Rye entered 34 crews with 24 entering semifinals and 19 entering finals. RowAmerica Rye returned to their Milton Harbor training facility with nine gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze medal. The club also won both Women’s and Men’s Point Trophies as well as the Overall Points Trophy as the best performing team.

“We consider the Summer season as the first out of four training seasons for our team,” Club Director and Women’s Head Coach Marko Serafimovski told MyRye.com. “The success at the Summer Youth National Championship gives a good tailwind for the season to come. Besides just the performance, it is very rewarding to watch these young athletes develop over the years. We hope that the sport itself teaches them something more than performing.”

The Summer Youth National regatta is the second largest regatta in the country, hosting over 60 clubs for competition.
