Rye PD is conducting New York State Liquor Authority compliance checks this month in local establishments in Rye that sell alcohol for on and off-premise consumption. In an announcement, Rye PD said these checks may involve a uniformed officer walking through your business during their routine patrol or an undercover officer or agent.
The goal is to reduce the availability of alcohol to underage youth from commercial sources such as bars, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, and convenience stores. It is a crime to sell, deliver or give away alcoholic beverages to a person under the age of 21.
