In its season opener the Rye Girls Varsity Basketball team tamed the Bronxville Broncos at home Friday evening. The Garnets lassoed their opponents with a nearly 3x score winning 41-16.
The game marked the opening of the winter season for Rye Athletics, with other teams starting their seasons on Saturday. “Big first win vs Bronxville by a score of 41-16,” said Rye Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Margo Hackett.
