Rye High School’s Unified Basketball kicked off its season Monday, staring down the Mamaroneck Tigers.
“Our athletes did a terrific job and have been working so hard to prepare!,” said Rye Unified Basketball Coach Margo Hackett.
The six unified athletes are Alex Elovaara, Zafeer Olatidoye, Julie Purcell, Emma Sassower, Thomas Weckessar, and TJ Neeves. Unified Teams join people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same athletic team.
