Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse was victorious over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in the Class C Regional Championship this past Saturday, defeating the Spartans by a final score of 12-6. It was a dominant performance by the Garnets.

“With only a few minutes left in the first quarter, Tripp Redd scored a goal off an Andrew Keller shovel ground ball.” Rye Head Coach Steve Lennon said.

Rye led 4–1 after Redd’s goal to close the first quarter, and the Garnets extended the lead to as many as nine goals when they built an 11–2 cushion.

Keller led Rye with three goals and an assist. Garrett Sullivan, Tyler McDermott, and Tucker Hess all had a pair of goals, as well.

Rye advances to face Manhasset from Section Eight on Wednesday in the state semifinals. The 2023 NYSPHAA Boys Lacrosse Championships are being held on the campus of UAlbany.
