A Stamford man was arrested in downtown Rye for Felony DWI early Sunday morning.
At approximately 5:03am this past Sunday, Rye PD Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle stopped in the roadway on the Boston Post Road in the area of Purdy Avenue. Antonio Saavedra-Vargas, age 46, of Stamford, Connecticut, was found passed out at the wheel of a 2014 Mercedes Benz.
Saavedra-Vargas was arrested and charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated (previous conviction DWI in ten years). All tickets issued to Saavedra-Vargas are returnable to the Rye City Court on June 27, 2023.
