Elizabeth (Libby) Saylor Erb died peacefully on June 13, 2023, with her daughter, Heide Perham, by her side. Libby was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 27, 1947. She lived in Litchfield, CT and Rye, NY with her family.
She attended Hewlitt High School in East Islip, NY and went to Stratford College in Danville, VA. While working as the assistant personnel manager with D’Arcy McManus International in New York City, she met Thomas Nelson Erb. They married and welcomed Heide Elizabeth Erb into the world in 1973.
After her divorce in 1977, she moved to Lookout Mountain, GA where her mother and father lived at the time. In her 40 years living on Lookout Mountain, she worked at Lookout Fashions, the Bargain Mart, Ritz Camera, the Mountain Market and finally Voges Pharmacy. Libby’s infectious laugh, sense of humor and generosity endeared her to all who knew her.
Through her work, she loved getting to know so many people, as well as their pets. She always had treats to give to the dogs as she made deliveries for Voges Pharmacy. She loved trivia, playing cards and spending time with friends, especially her best friend Virginia (Ginny) Moss and her family. Her greatest pride was her daughter, Heide. She adored her son in law Andrew Perham and grandson Henry Saylor Perham.
In 2019 she moved to Haddam, CT to be closer to Heide and her family. In April of 2023, she moved to Apple Rehabilitation in Colchester, CT. The staff there were kind, compassionate and, with the assistance of hospice, made sure she was comfortable and well-cared for.

She is survived by her daughter Heide, son in law Andrew, grandson Henry, sister Stuart Ann Watters, brother Lawrence Stuart Saylor Jr. and his wife Angela Saylor, as well as many nieces and nephews.
