The Eight Rye-Connected Folks on the Annual Westchester 100

A number of individuals connected to the City of Rye – staff, elected officials, pr people and others are among the annual Westchester 100 list published by City & State, a media organization that covers New York’s local and state politics and policy.

Those Rye-connected folks on the top 100 list include:

  • #2 George Latimer. Our “Rye-guy” who lives nearby Playland on Roosevelt Avenue is now rumored to be considering challenging Congressman Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) in the next primary. He has risen from City County to Board of Legislators to Assemblyman to State Senate to now County Executive.
  • #5 State Senator Shelley Mayer. She lives in Yonkers but is a regular fixture at Rye public events.
  • #6 Congressman Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) represents Rye in DC.
  • #10 Assemblyman Steve Otis. Another long-time Rye guy. A Rye Country Day School grad and known for his work on the environment, especially clean water.
  • # 30 Cristyne Nicholas & George Lence CEO; President, Nicholas & Lence Communications. One of the PR firms serving Rye Playland operator Standard Amusements.
  • #63 Anthony B. Gioffre Managing Partner, Cuddy & Feder. Just over the line but this land use attorney has worked on the redevelopment of the old United Hospital site in Port Chester.
  • #79 Kristen Kelley Wilson Member, Marks DiPalermo Wilson. Wilson is the City fo Rye’s corporation counsel. She can be seen sitting on the dais alongside City Manager Greg Usry during city council meetings.
  • # 83 Stacey Cohen President and CEO, Co-Communications. Worked in getting the Westchester Children’s Museum established on the Playland boardwalk.
