Ralph F. Ptasienski, 56, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born August 21, 1967, in Port Chester, NY, he was the son of Stanley “Topper” Ptasienski and Lee Scandinaro Ptasienski. His parents survive in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
He was a graduate of Rye High School, where he played football for five years.
Ralph worked for a time with the Town of Poughkeepsie Water Department, and most recently, did commercial power washing for local auto dealerships, and worked as a licensed security guard in the Poughkeepsie entertainment scene.
Mr. Ptasienski was a NASCAR fan, avid motorcyclist, and car collector. He was a full patch member of the Dirty Ones Motorcycle Club 1%ers, “Dirty North”, Poughkeepsie Chapter.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is survived by his two brothers, Stanley Ptasienski, and wife, Lisa, of Hyde Park, and Justin Lordi of Poughkeepsie; and nieces, Makayla Ptasienski of Hyde Park, and Mackenzie Ptasienski of South Carolina.
He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Ann Arnold and husband, Hank, of Poughkeepsie, Elizabeth Hollingsworth and husband, Michael, of Boynton Beach, FL, and Ed Ptasienski of Hyde Park; and cousins, Thor Mikelic (Sandra Bruce), Wolfe Mikelic (Lisa Minetto), Vanja Mikelic (Danielle Mikelic), Maryanne Sabatino (Raymond), Michael Hollingsworth, Christopher Hollingsworth, and their families.
An animal lover, he is also survived by his beloved dog, “Max 2.0.”
Ralph was predeceased by his grandparents.
Cremation has taken place. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet’s Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
