The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) will enter the next phase of of restoration of the Jay Mansion. The successful campaign raised $1.25 million that will be used to restore six upstairs rooms at the mansion to studio spaces and classrooms – “an ideal venue for public training of future historians, land stewards, and thought leaders in sustainability throughout New York State”.

The funds came from a $750,000 challenge grant from the Wachenheim Foundation. Sue and Edgar Wachenheim are local residents. JHC raised the challenge amount of $500,000 including $100,000 from its annual Jay Soirée on September 23.
