A local Rye interior designer will be featured in a new Hulu streaming series starring cook and TV personality Rachel Ray. The series, Rachel Ray’s Rebuild, features Ray and her team helping rebuild the homes of families in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut as they navigate the aftermath of natural disasters.
On Ray’s team is designer Sara Touijer. With an office on Purchase Street and home down the road in Harrison, her firm Touijer Designs focuses on high end work in Westchester and surrounding areas.
“While working closely with the families in the show, I deeply felt the profound impact of good design on well-being,” said Touijer. “It’s not just about beautifying spaces; as designers, we touch the very heart and soul of a home.”
But Touijer has already mixed interior design with giving back. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she launched One Room Wonders a non-profit that took on projects including remodeling the kitchen of the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley. The group’s goal is to select deserving individuals and create one of a kind spaces that positively impact lives, enhance well being and spark joy through the art of design.
Locally, Touijer just completed two projects along Forest Avenue – an attic renovation for the Sullivan family and a basement renovation for the Raithatha family.
