Why did you originally choose Rye for your business?

Ryan: I chose Rye as my second location for Meg-a-Lashes because it truly is a remarkable town, and so are the people in it. I opened up 2 months before the pandemic, and the people in Rye really came together for their town and their community. That is something I’ll never forget.

Is this your sole location, or do you have multiple locations?

Ryan: I opened my first location around 10 years ago. It is located in White Plains at 399 Mamaroneck Avenue.

Describe your clientele.

Ryan: Our clients are amazing. We truly have the best clientele. Most have been with us since we first opened Meg-a-Lashes. They are loyal, kind, and we are grateful to have them.

Describe the environment in your salon.

Ryan: At Meg-a-Lashes we truly do our absolute best to make sure that each individual that walks through our door is greeted in a kind, professional manner. We take our time to go over what each client is trying to achieve with their service. I would describe my salons as having a friendly, calm environment as many of our clients have fallen asleep when getting their lashes done. Our staff is respectful, and we are extremely thorough with the work we do.

Tell us about the array of services you offer.

Ryan: Meg-a-Lashes is primarily a lash salon, so we specialize in the lash artistry. We offer lash extensions and keratin lash lifts. We also do permanent makeup, brows, threading, and microblading.

Tell us about you.

Ryan: I grew up in the Westchester area, but I was living in NYC when I started this company. I started Meg-a-Lashes a little later on in my life! I created this idea when I was 30 years old as I had struggled a bit on figuring out what I wanted to pursue as a career. I always knew that I wanted to be a business owner, and I’d like to think I’m pretty creative. Being that I was a client getting my lashes done in NYC, I decided to take the concept of lash extensions and bring it to Westchester County. There were no storefront lash salons located in Westchester County 10 years ago when I started, so I decided to open one, and the rest is history. The lash industry grew astronomically, and I’m grateful I got in when I did and had the opportunity to help other young lash artists who are trying to get into this industry.

Tell us about your staff.

Ryan: I have 15 staff members currently, and the number is growing. All of my lash artists are incredible. Meg-a-Lashes wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my remarkable staff. Each one is unique in their own right. We are family here; we stick together through the good and the bad. We are all remarkable women, and there is no drama!

We help, we strive for better, and we are all here for one another. I’m so impressed by everyone who works at the Meg-a-Lashes establishment. We are a team and a remarkable one at that.

When you finish your day, or finish your week, how do you take care of yourself?

Ryan: When I finish my work day, I like to go home and unwind. I usually cook when I get home. It helps me relax, and I really enjoy it. It’s kind of a passion of mine. I really do try my best to take care of myself by eating right and working out. I like to treat myself to a massage or a facial, my nails and obviously lashes are always done, and I meditate to get my head in the right space. I work in the beauty industry, and in this industry you have to be presentable. I’m also responsible for a large team of amazing women. In order to lead my team, I need to be healthy mentally as well as physically. I need to feel my absolute best to do my best work.

Thank you, Megan!
