An investigation determined Miranda-Lopez was operating a 2011 Toyota Sienna traveling northbound on the Boston Road when he reportedly fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle crossing into southbound traffic striking a motor vehicle. Officers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which Miranda-Lopez failed. He was arrested and transported to Rye Police Headquarters where he provided a breath sample of .22% BAC. Miranda- Lopez was uninjured and the driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

Miranda-Lopez was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Rye Court for a later date in March. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
