RyeFIRST Fundraiser: Help Our First Responders Help the Hungry
RyeFIRST is an online fundraiser organized by Rye’s first responders and MyRye.com to help those in the greater Westchester area, impacted by COVID-19 and its economic impacts, who are suffering from food insecurity.
The fundraiser is entirely online, and tax deductible donations go directly to Feeding Westchester.

Feeding Westchester’s mission is to end hunger in our county. The food bank is at the heart of a network of more than 300 partners, and sources and distributes food to towns across the county. The group is responding to the greatest need and demand it has ever seen for food in the county.
“One of the most important types of security is food security,” said Rye Police Officer and City of Rye PBA President Gabe Caputo. “If there is a silver lining in this pandemic, it is seeing the care and concern we can have for each other.”
“Our fire and police always put ‘RyeFIRST’,” said Rye Firefighter and President of the Rye Professional Firefighters Local 2029 John Castelhano. “Let’s take the great warmth and generosity of Rye and extend it across Westchester to those struggling with food insecurity.”
“The men and women of our police and fire departments help each of us everyday,” said Jay Sears, publisher of MyRye.com. “Now let’s honor our first responders by helping those folks less fortunate in our community who struggle to put food on the table.”
