Rye, through the city’s web site, offers a GIS (geographic information system) more powerful than Google maps. The searching is not as intuitive as mapping products offered by the big Internet portals and you can’t bookmark some of the inner pages but the features are much richer. You can overlay data such as contours, buildings, water, zoning and FEMA flood zones. Definitely handy if you are house shopping in town.
