- 67.5% said Yes. There should be a STOP sign at the intersection of Midland and Palisade;

A Midland School student was hit by a vehicle at the intersection on January 7th, putting even more light on the pedestrian safety issue that was one of the leading issues in last fall's election. Jarrid Amico lost his life at the same intersection nearly four years ago. Jarrid's father Jim Amico has been outspoken on the issue of pedestrian safety and recently launched a web site covering the issue. Mayor Doug French has expressed support for stop sign and just last week in a MyRye.com guest column, Councilman Joe Sack outlined his rational for supporting a stop sign.
It’s a shame another child had to be struck by oncoming traffic for this VERY SERIOUS & DANGEROUS situation to finally get the proper attention it has warranted for so long!
Unfortunately, there are times in life when it SUCKS TO BE RIGHT, this is one of those times!
It is no coincidence that District 8 (my district) had the HIGHEST vote total in favor of Doug French in the recent election.
After this poll, the people have now spoken twice!!! Wednesday nights council meeting will no doubt be a third!
