Rye Loses George Croughan
Rye has lost Eldridge Court resident George Croughan. The Rye City schools notified parents via email this afternoon. LoHud.com and Patch.com both have reported Croughan took his life early this morning when he jumped off the Tappan Zee bridge. Croughan, age 50, is survived by his wife Judy and their three boys Will, Colin and Mark.
George was a runner and a regular with the other dog walkers at Rye Town Park. George's wife Judy was a long-time contributor to MyRye.com and we bought our Rye home from George and Judy when we moved to Rye in 2002. They were as kind and welcoming as you would want anyone to be when one moves into a new community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Croughan family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Judy and her children at this time. I am so sorry for your loss. George was a great man!!!!!
What a great loss. George was very well liked. He was such a great father. He was so nice and complimentary to my children as well….always smiling. Oh George, you will be painfully missed. Love and light to Judy and the boys…..
The loss of a loved one is a painful moment. When it comes unexpected and tragic the degree of pain rises to a different atmosphere.
The Amico’s are deeply saddened…
Thoughts and many prayers to his wife and children!
My thoughts and prayers are with Judy and the boys. I will miss George – a good friend who always made me smile.
George was a good man. He will be missed. God bless his soul. Prayers for good things for Judy and the boys. At a loss for words.
