Rye’s 54th Annual Little League Parade – Pics and Video
Saturday provided perfect weather for the 54rd Annual Rye Little League Parade. Starting in the train station parking lot and winding down Purchase Street and Milton Avenue, the hundreds of baseball players made their way to Disbrow Park's Grainger Field for the formal Opening Day ceremonies. The players were led by Rye PD and Rye FD escort vehicles and various marching bands.

At Grainger Field fans of all ages heard the National Anthem, welcoming remarks by Little League boss Myles Lavelle and the introduction of many local politicos. The first pitch was thrown by Pat Amendola and caught by little leaguer Aidan Lavelle – the families of both were responsible for the founding of the Rye Little League in 1959.
