Scout Leader and Hix Park Resident Punts Media Biz to Flip Burgers
That looks good.
It looked so good to Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 2 in Rye and Hix Park resident Daniel Magnus he quit the media business to flip burgers.
Not just any burger. Magnus has opened Elevation Burger, the nation’s first 100% USDA-certified organic hamburger chain serving 100% grass-fed, 100% free-range beef ground on-premises, at the Rye Ridge Shopping Center in Rye Brook. The Virginia-based company now boasts 20 locations and expects to open at least 100 by the end 2013.
In addition to its organic beef, the restaurant also serves fresh-cut fries cooked in heart-healthy, 100% olive oil as well as hand-scooped milkshakes made with antibiotic- and hormone-free milk. The opening adds 40 new jobs to the local labor force.
“Our name is a reflection of our offerings and our standards. We’re elevating hamburgers and the environment in which we serve them to a whole new level,” said Magnus.
He is a former publishing executive whose last position was as CEO of Metro New York. He has also held positions with Robb Report, Bloomberg, CondeNast and Time Inc.
