Go Deep: Rye Sports History on April 17th
Rye is serious about its sports. If you are new to Rye and still trying to understand what all the fuss is about, this is a must attend event. Jump into the deep end and enjoy:
Rye Sports History
Tuesday, April 17, 7 p.m.
What: What makes Rye so good at sports? That question will be the topic of conversation for a panel of notorious Rye athletes and coaches during a Rye Sports History night. Moderated by Athletic Director Robert Castagna, this event will feature several Rye sports luminaries, past and present, as they discuss the small city’s success in sports. The evening is sponsored by the Rye Historical Society to kick off a new exhibit, “The History of Sports in Rye: From 1908 through Present,” which will open on Wednesday, April 18.
When: Tuesday, April 17, 7 p.m.
Who: Rye’s own sports legends will lead the discussion. Panelists include Football Coach Dino Garr, Girls’ Varsity Soccer Coach and former RHS soccer player Rich Savage, RHS Class of 1965 basketball star Steve Feeney, RHS Class of 1989 football, and basketball and baseball star Greg Draddy.
