Sculpture Exhibit on Purchase Street Vandalised
One of the 15 sculptures adorning a Purchase Street exhibit is no more. One of the sculptures was the victim of vandalism, likely Saturday night.
The Rye Arts Center and local sculptor Bob Clyatt currated the show to host the works of Joan Benefiel and Jeremy Leichman along Purchase Street from April 27th to the end of May. Their “Hudson River Pilings Project” shown recently in Los Angeles and in New York’s Fashion District– 15 glowing translucent fire-orange figures set atop 8-foot wooden poles– is installed along Rye's Purchase Street.
