Rye High Announces AP Scholar Award Recipients

Rye High School announced the names of students who have earned 2013 AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional scores on the Advanced Placement Exams. The College Board presents these awards to students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams.

Thirteen students earned the status of National AP Scholars, a title presented to students who receive an average score of at least four on all AP Exams taken, and scores of four or higher on eight or more of these exams. Fifty-five students were named AP Scholars with Honor, for receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of three or higher on four or more of these exams. Sixty-five were recognized as AP Scholars, a recognition granted to students who receive scores of three or higher on three or more AP exams. Seventy-seven students were named AP Scholars with Distinction for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of three or higher on five or more of these exams.

“I offer my personal congratulations to the students and faculty on their outstanding successes,” stated Principal Patricia Taylor. “Participation in the Advanced Placement program requires commitment and dedication towards the pursuit of the rigorous, college preparatory offerings. It is a testament to the students and faculty that we numerous students achieving the highest standards set by College Board.”
