Rye PD: Stolen Car at Rye Town Park, Bad Guys Also with Drugs on Person
Bad day last week for Alexi Hernandez and Jose Orozco, both from neighboring Port Chester.
On May 25th at approximately 12:30 PM the City of Rye Police Department was alerted to a possible stolen car at the Rye Town Park.
Upon officers arrival the vehicle was immediately located and four occupants of the vehicle were observed. The driver immediately fled on foot from the vehicle and was apprehended three blocks away after a foot chase by PO Christine Incalcatera and Sgt. Julio Rossi.
The passengers of the vehicle were apprehended by PO Joseph Cancel and PO Mauricio Gomez. Additionally, the driver of vehicle, Alexi Hernandez of Port Chester, NY, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and Marijuana. The passenger of the vehicle, Jose Orozco of Port Chester, NY was also found in possession of a controlled substance and Marijuana.
The two others in the car were female passengers who were picked up by suspects. They were not involved or aware of the theft, according to Rye PD… apparently just on a really, really bad double date…

Alexi Hernandez was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misd.), Resisting Arrest (A misd.) and Unlawful possession of Marijuana.

Jose Orozco was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misd.) and Unlawful possession of Marijuana.
Both suspects were remanded to the Westchester County Jail with a court appearance date of May 31st.
