The Jay Heritage Center (JHC), in the process of restoring its own gardens and meadow, and adjacent to the Marshlands Conservancy with its own expansive meadow running down to the Long Island Sound, wants to teach you how to forage for food.

You did not think there was such a thing as a celebrity forager, but this has to be as close as you can get.
Friday, January 20th at 11:30am, the JHC is hosting "acclaimed forager and meadow guru" Tama Matsuoka Wong, a recovering corporate attorney who is now the forager for Daniel, the flagship restaurant of renowned chef Daniel Boulud. Wong also runs Meadows and More to connect experts in the field of meadow restoration, botany, and wildlife with people in the community.
At JHC Wong will demonstrate and share one of her recipes with the audience and also talk about how invasive species like garlic mustard and Japanese knotweed have a delicious place on the menus of some of Manhattan's hottest restaurants.

Ticket price are $15 for JHC members and their guests and $20 for Non-members and include the lecture and a box lunch. No word if garlic mustard or Japanese knotweed is on the sandwich provided…
