Shop for a Cause: Woman’s Club of Rye Children’s Philanthropy Spring Boutique
Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Children’s Philanthropy section of the Woman’s Club of Rye will host their annual “Spring Boutique” at Whitby Castle in Rye on Wednesday, May 9th from 10am – 8pm. The event has grown from a small local boutique at the Rye Free Reading Room showcasing Rye women’s crafts and small businesses to a 35+ national vendor boutique. It is also a fundraiser for Children’s Philanthropy as vendors donate a portion of their proceeds to the Woman’s Club for distribution among local organizations that support Rye children and their families.
This year, Children’s Philanthropy is very excited that many of the most successful and popular vendors from years past will be returning, alongside an array of new vendors with fresh and unique product offerings. Building on the overwhelming success of last year’s boutique, Children’s Philanthropy members have been diligently researching potential vendors by visiting similar events throughout Westchester, Connecticut and New York City to find the most appealing variety of designer wares from jewelry, clothing and accessories to cashmere, beauty products and home décor.
Returning to the event are the highly successful Gretchen Neal Designs (Italian apparel), Ilyse’s Pieces (jewelry) and Yatra (assorted accessories, tunics and shawls); exciting new vendors include Grace Connell Designs (art prints, maps and stationery), Le Fashion Cottage (totes, handbags and reversible jackets) and HomeTownLove (Rye-themed home décor).
Whitby Castle will have lunch for sale and there will be an evening cash bar with hors d’oeuvres. The event will also feature door prizes from every vendor. It is just one of the many fundraisers Children’s Philanthropy hosts every year to make a difference in the lives of Rye’s children. Proceeds help to pay for programs such as the teacher in the library and summer reading programs at the Rye Free Reading Room, kindergarten music at the Rye Arts Center, school water safety at the Rye YMCA, elementary study tours at the Rye Nature Center and many more.
