Services for Rye Firefighter Struck and Killed by Car

Services have been set for Rye volunteer firefighter Richard F. Cadigan, Jr., who was killed on Thursday, January 31, 2019 when he was struck by a car at the intersection of Irving Avenue and North Regent Street in Port Chester.

Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 2:00pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019, with the memorial service at 1:30pm, at the Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home (767 East Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck).

Cadigan's obituary:

Richard F. Cadigan Jr, of Rye, tragically passed away on January 31, 2019, just one day shy of his 62nd birthday. Richard was born February 1, 1957, to Richard & Anne (nee Smith) Cadigan. He was a graduate of University of Maryland where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and later went on to work as a Compliance Officer for Aegis Capital in NYC. Richard was a dedicated volunteer for the City of Rye Fire Department where he served as a Warden. He answered the call to service following the events that unfolded on September 11th, 2001. Colleagues in the department fondly describe him as a friend and mentor. Richard is remembered for his love of warm weather; enjoying pool, beach and BBQ’s. He is survived by his wife, Denise (nee Ferraro), with whom he shared many years. Richard is the devoted and loving father of Liam and the cherished brother of, Charlie, John and Fr. Tim Cadigan and Anne Brown. Family and friends will gather in Richard’s memory on Saturday February 23rd 12-2pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968.
